The main theme of the 9th IPAS 2020 seminar is human-centred assembly processes and systems, a topic which is also at the core of some of the research activities conducted at Profactor, who are co-organisers of the seminar. The papers to be presented also reflect the latest thinking in new assembly systems concepts, applications of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in assembly operations, as well as novel developments in assembly processes and tools.

This year the programme includes three invited keynotes. The presentation by Prof Gino Dini for the University of Pisa will introduce some of the latest thinking and scientific developments in augmented reality in assembly systems. This will be complemented by two keynotes providing industrial perspectives by Mr Peter Reichel from the Austrian Electrotechnical Association (OVE) and Austrian Measurement, Automation & Robotics Association (GMAR) and Mr Gerald Fritz, a Senior Coordinator R&D Projects at the TTTech Computertechnik AG, Austria.
